In Her Shoes

Last night I saw a movie that's been out for a few years. Since I'm not a movie aficionado it's not a shock that I'm seeing a movie two or three years late. I'm writing about "in her shoes" because it's authentic, true to life and has a great story about the perils of difficult relationships and how siblings or family members can reach reconciliation despite the past and their differences.

This quasi chick flick (that even guys can appreciate) is built around two sisters with a typical relationship which is fragmented by the past and the present. Due to one large sisterly blow-out both of their circumstances change and each sister adopts a new life. When they meet-up towards the end of the movie they slowly put their past expectations and prejudices of each other aside and grow in a new relationship together.

If you feel like watching a movie with your mom, sister or grandma this movie is a great choice and one that makes you evaluate your own relationships.

Scrubs Musical

Although I'm a little late in my posting on this, I must admit that I LOVED the recently-aired Scrubs musical. The whole extravaganza was highly entertaining and very fun to watch. Even though they've done an episode slightly like this one in the past, this one was super well done and a nice departure from traditional sitcom 'behaviour.'

As I understand, the people who wrote Avenue Q did the writting for the musical episode of Scrubs. Nice touch.

Note: my fave song from the show was 'guy love.'

Yoga Anyone

In an effort to try an alternative form of exercise, yesterday I ventured into the world of beginner's yoga.

The environment was calming and I must admit that I felt relxed after a few downward dogs and some other few other poses I can't remember.

Althought I kept on getting a lot of the moves wrong and probably didn't breath right, I think I'll enjoy my next few classes of yoga and perhaps even graduate to acheive even greater success in the world of connecting the mind, body and spirit.

The icing on the cake of my first official yoga class (other than my short stint of hot yoga whilst wearing jeans on The Shopping Bags) was the relaxation time at the end. Our instructor asked if any of us wanted a blanket. I thought he was crazy until 15 minutes and a mandolin solo later I was shivering in my tank top and capris on my my newly-purchased 'extra-thick' yoga mat.

After buying the yoga mat and paying for 7 classes --who knew the right of passage into the world of yogies was so costly?

Listing our Place Again

To avoid the Spring listing rush, we're putting our place on the market this week. Hopefully, by putting up now, we'll avoid the plethora of un-serious listers who put their places on the market in the spring simply to see if they can get a good price, not because they actually want to move.

We've spent the past week updating our pied-a-terre's glam-factor by adding art, crystals to our chadelier and a border around our curtains.

Although it's too early to say, I think that all these changes combined with the time of year at which we're listing will hopefully produce the result we want - to sell.

Even though we don't really have a plan once we sell, I'm sure something will come together.
